Fishing tourney to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

Registrations are open for an ice-fishing tournament on Little Rock Lake that will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota.

Sponsored by ING Direct, the tournament is set for noon-3 p.m. on Little Rock Lake just south of Rice. People of all ages are welcome to participate. There will be games, refreshments, door prizes, raffle prizes and prizes for the biggest fish caught. The grand prize is a four-night stay at a cabin on East Battle Lake near Henning, plus two half-day professional-guided fishing trips to any area lakes designated by the winner. Other prizes include a portable fish house, a fish locator, ice augur and $100 in cash.

To register, stop in at ING Direct in downtown St. Cloud, 30 7th Ave. S. by Herberger’s store. The best time to stop is from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. during Fridays as there will be ING Direct tournament-organizers available during that time to meet registrants or people with questions. However, people can register any time during ING office hours – 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays. Anyone interested can also find out more by calling Andy at 534-4679 or Michelle at 534-4710.

The tournament will take place just off of the public access on the north side of Little Rock Lake, Benton Beach Road. The area will be cleaned of snow and ice-fishing holes will be pre-drilled.

All proceeds from the tourney will go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. ING Direct does extensive community-service projects during the year. Recent ones helped the St. Cloud Children’s Home, YMCA and the Salvation Army.

ING Direct is a national bank offering a wide variety of financial services.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota pairs up adults with youth so they develop mutual friendships for a better quality of life.
